‘400% bonus’ is a performative light installation that examines the human influence on the reproductive mechanisms of Oxalis pes-caprae. Also known as ‘soursobs’, Oxalis pes-caprae is a noxious weed native to southern Africa that is distinguishable by its attractive bright yellow flowers that bloom in winter and spring. Introduced into Australia in the 19th century as an ornamental plant, Oxalis pes-caprae is normalised in many areas of southern Australia and other regions of the world where it has become a significant invasive species.
