[ artist floor talk ] 400% bonus

  • Library at the Dock 107 Victoria Harbour Promenade Docklands, VIC, 3008 Australia (map)

Join me for a floor talk as part of 400% bonus.

‘400% bonus’ is a performative light installation that examines the human influence on the reproductive mechanisms of Oxalis pes-caprae. Also known as ‘soursobs’, Oxalis pes-caprae is a noxious weed native to southern Africa that is distinguishable by its attractive bright yellow flowers that bloom in winter and spring. Introduced into Australia in the 19th century as an ornamental plant, Oxalis pes-caprae is normalised in many areas of southern Australia and other regions of the world where it has become a significant invasive species.

400% bonus will be on installed at the entrance of The Library at the Dock, Melbourne (107 Victoria Harbour Promenade, Docklands VIC 3008) for viewing throughout October 2018. The installation will accessible 24 hours as it will be visible during the day and lit up at night.
